Wal, March 1985. This bass was owned by Howie Epstein of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers fame. He also produced or played with Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Stevie Nicks, John Price, Linda Ronstadt and more. I was a fan for years, I grew up listening to him and learning how to play bass by playing along with him and the rest of The Heartbreakers. After Howie died, his brothers inherited his gear and they sold much of it at auction.
